Philippians
Chapter 1
1:1Paul and Timothy the servants of Jesus Christos, to all the Saints in Christos Jesus who are at Philippi, with the Bishops, and Deacons:
1:2Grace be with you,and peace from Theos our Father, and from the Kyrios Jesus Christos.
1:3I thank my Theos, having you in perfect memory,
1:4(Always in every supplication of mine for all you, making supplication with gladness)
1:5Because of the fellowship which you have in the Gospel, from the first day to now.
1:6And I am persuaded of this same thing, that he that has begun this good work in you, will perform it until the day of Jesus Christos,
1:7As it becomes me so to judge of you all, because I have you in my heart, that both in my bands, and in my defense, and confirmation of the Gospel you all were partakers of my grace.
1:8For Theos is my record, how I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christos.
1:9And this I pray, that your love may abound, yet more and more in knowledge, and in all judgment,
1:10That you may approve those things which are best, that you may be pure, and without offense until the day of Christos,
1:11Filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christos to the glory and praise of Theos.
1:12I would you understood, brethren, that the things which have come to me, are turned rather to the furthering of the Gospel,
1:13So that my bands in Christos are famous throughout all the judgment hall, and in all other places,
1:14In so much that many of the brethren in the Kyrios are bold through my bands, and dare more frankly speak the word.
1:15Some preach. Christos even through envy and strife, and some also of good will.
1:16The one part preaches Christos of contention and not purely, supposing to add more affliction to my bands.
1:17But the others of love, knowing that I am set for the defense of the Gospel.
1:18What then? Yet Christos is preached all manner ways, whether it be under a pretense, or sincerely: and I in it joy: yes and will joy.
1:19For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your supplication, and by the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christos,
1:20As I fervently look for,and hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all confidence, as always, so now Christos shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life or by death.
1:21For Christos is to me both in life, and in death advantage.
1:22And whether to live in the flesh were profitable for me,and what to choose I know not.
1:23For I am distressed between both, desiring to be loosed and to be with Christos, who is best of all.
1:24Nevertheless, to abide in the flesh, is more needful for you.
1:25And this am I sure of,that I shall abide, and with you all continue, for your furtherance and joy of your faith,
1:26That you may more abundant rejoice in Jesus Christos for me, by my coming to you again.
1:27Only let your conduct be, as it becomes the Gospel of Christos, that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your matters that you continue in one Spirit, and in one psyche, fighting together through the faith of the Gospel.
1:28And in nothing fear your adversaries, which is to them a token of perdition, and to you of salvation, and that of Theos.
1:29For to you it is freely given for Christos, that not only you should believe in him,but also suffer for his sake,
1:30Having the same fight, which you saw in me,and now hear to be in me.
Chapter 2
2:1If there be therefore any consolation in Christos, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and compassions,
2:2Fulfill my joy, that you be like minded, having the same love, being of one accord, and of one judgment,
2:3That nothing be done through contention or vain glory, but that in meekness of mind every man esteem other better than himself.
2:4Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of other men.
2:5Let the same mind be in you that was even in Christos Jesus,
2:6Who being in the form of Theos, thought it no robbery to be equal with Theos:
2:7But he made himself of no reputation, and took on him the form of a servant, and was made like to men,and was found in shape as a man.
2:8He humbled himself, and became obedient to the death, even the death of the Cross.
2:9Therefore Theos has also highly exalted him,and freely given him a Name above every name,
2:10That at the Name of Jesus should every knee bow, both of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth,
2:11And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christos is the Kyrios, to the glory of Theos the Father.
2:12Therefore my beloved, as you have always obeyed me, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, so make an end of your own salvation with fear and trembling.
2:13For it is Theos who works in you, both the will and the deed, even of his good pleasure.
2:14Do all things without murmuring and disputings,
2:15That you may be blameless, and pure, and the sons of Theos without rebuke in the midst of a naughty and crooked nation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
2:16Holding forth the word of life, that I may rejoice in the day of Christos, that I have not run in vain, neither have labored in vain.
2:17Yes,and though I be offered up upon the sacrifice, and service of your faith, I am glad, and rejoice with you all.
2:18For the same cause also be you glad, and rejoice with me.
2:19And I trust in the Kyrios Jesus, to send Timothy shortly to you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.
2:20For I have no man like minded, who will faithfully care for your matters.
2:21For all seek their own,and not that which is Jesus Christos's.
2:22But you know the proof of him, that as a son with the father, he has served with me in the Gospel.
2:23Him therefore I hope to send as soon as I know how it will go with me,
2:24And trust in the Kyrios, that I also myself shall come shortly.
2:25But I supposed it necessary to send my brother Epaphroditus to you, my companion in labor, and fellow soldier, even your messenger, and he that ministered to me such things as I wanted.
2:26For he longed after all you,and was full of heaviness, because you had heard that he had been sick.
2:27And no doubt he was sick, very near to death:but Theos had mercy on him,and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.
2:28I sent him therefore the more diligently, that when you should see him again, you might rejoice, and I might be the less sorrowful.
2:29Receive him therefore in the Kyrios with all gladness, and make much of such:
2:30Because that for the work of Christos he was near to death, and regarded not his psyche, to fulfill that service which was lacking on your part toward me.
Chapter 3
3:1Moreover, my brethren, rejoice in the Kyrios. It grieves me not to write the same things to you,and for you it is a sure thing.
3:2Beware of dogs:beware of evil workers:beware of the mutilation.
3:3For we are the circumcision, which worship Theos in the spirit, and rejoice in Christos Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh:
3:4Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinks that he has cause to trust in the flesh, much more I,
3:5Circumcised the eighth day, of the kindred of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews, by the Law a Pharisee.
3:6Concerning zeal, I persecuted the Church:touching the righteousness which is in the Law, I was unrebukable.
3:7But the things that were gain to me, the same I counted loss for Christos's sake.
3:8Yes, doubtless I think all things but loss for the excellent knowledge sake of Christos Jesus my Kyrios, for whom I have counted all things loss, and do judge them to be dung, that I might win Christos,
3:9And might be found in him, that is, not having my own righteousness, which is of the Law,but that which is through the faith of Christos, even the righteousness which is of Theos through faith,
3:10That I may know him,and the virtue of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his afflictions, and be made conformable to his death,
3:11If by any means I might attain to the resurrection of the dead:
3:12Not as though I had already attained to it, either were already perfect:but I follow, if that I may comprehend that for whose sake also I am comprehended of Christos Jesus.
3:13Brethren, I reckon not myself, that I have attained to it,but one thing I do:I forget that which is behind, and endeavor myself to that which is before,
3:14And follow hard toward the mark, for the prize of the high calling of Theos in Christos Jesus.
3:15Let us therefore as many as be perfected, be thus minded:and if you be otherwise minded, Theos shall reveal even the same to you.
3:16Nevertheless, in that to which we are come, let us proceed by one rule, that we may mind one thing.
3:17Brethren, be followers of me,and look on them, which walk so, as you have us for an example.
3:18For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you weeping, that they are the enemies of the Cross of Christos:
3:19Whose end is damnation, whose Theos is their belly, and whose glory is to their shame, who mind earthly things.
3:20But our citizenship is in heaven, from where also we look for the Savior, even the Kyrios Jesus Christos,
3:21Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like to his glorious body, according to the working, by what he is able even to subdue all things to himself.
4:1Therefore, my brethren, beloved and longed for, my joy and my crown, so continue in the Kyrios, you beloved.
4:2I urge Euodia, and urge Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Kyrios,
4:3Yes,and I ask you, faithful companion, help those women, who labored with me in the Gospel, with Clement also, and with the rest of my fellow laborers, whose names are in the Book of Life.
4:4Rejoice in the Kyrios always, again I say, rejoice.
4:5Let your patient mind be known to all men. The Kyrios is at hand.
4:6Be nothing careful, but in all things let your requests be made known to Theos in prayer, and supplication with giving of thanks.
4:7And the peace of Theos who passes all understanding, shall preserve your hearts and minds in Christos Jesus.
4:8Furthermore, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are worthy love, whatever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, or if there be any praise, think on these things,
4:9Which you have both learned and received, and heard, and seen in me:those things do,and the Theos of peace shall be with you.
4:10Now I rejoice also in the Kyrios greatly, that now at the last your care for me springs afresh, in which notwithstanding you were careful, but you lacked opportunity.
4:11I speak not because of want: for I have learned in whatever state I am, with it to be content.
4:12And I can be abased, and I can abound:everywhere in all things I am instructed, both to be full, and to be hungry, and to abound, and to have want.
4:13I am able to do all things through the help of Christos, who strengthens me.
4:14Notwithstanding you have well done, that you did communicate to my affliction.
4:15And you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the Gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no Church communicated with me, concerning the matter of giving and receiving, but you only.
4:16For even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent once, and afterward again for my necessity,
4:17Not that I desire a gift:but I desire the fruit which may further your reckoning.
4:18Now I have received all,and have plenty:I was even filled, after that I had received of Epaphroditus that which came from you, an odor that well sweet, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasant to Theos.
4:19And my Theos shall fulfill all your necessities through his riches with glory in Jesus Christos.
4:20To Theos even our Father be praise for evermore, Amen.
4:21Salute all the Saints in Christos Jesus. The brethren, who are with me, greet you.
4:22All the Saints salute you,and most of all they who are of Caesar's household.
4:23The grace of our Kyrios Jesus Christos be with you all, Amen. Written to the Philippians from Rome, and sent by Epaphroditus.
