Chapter 1

1:1Paul an Apostle of Jesus Christos, by the will of Theos, and Timothy our brother,
1:2To them which are at Colosse, Saints and faithful brethren in Christos:Grace be with you,and peace from Theos our Father, and from the Kyrios Jesus Christos.
1:3We give thanks to Theos even the Father of our Kyrios Jesus Christos, always praying for you:
1:4Since we heard of your faith in Christos Jesus, and of your love toward all Saints,
1:5For the hopes sake, which is laid up for you in heaven, of what you have heard before by the word of truth, which is the Gospel,
1:6Which is come to you, even as it is to all the world, and is fruitful, as it is also among you, from the day that you heard and truly knew the grace of Theos,
1:7As you also learned of Epaphras our dear fellow servant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christos:
1:8Who has also declared to us your love in the Spirit.
1:9For this cause we also, since the day we heard of it, cease not to pray for you,and to ask that you might be fulfilled with knowledge of his will in all wisdom, and spiritual understanding,
1:10That you might walk worthy of the Kyrios, and please him in all things, being fruitful in all good works, and increasing in the knowledge of Theos,
1:11Strengthened with all might through his glorious power, to all patience, and long suffering with joyfulness,
1:12Giving thanks to the Father, who has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the Saints in light,
1:13Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son,
1:14In whom we have redemption through his blood, that is, the forgiveness of sins,
1:15Who is the image of the invisible Theos, the firstborn of every creature.
1:16For by him were all things created, which are in heaven, and which are in earth, things visible and invisible:whether they be Thrones or Dominions, or Principalities, or Powers, all things were created by him,and for him,
1:17And he is before all things, and in him all things consist.
1:18And he is the head of the body of the Church:he is the beginning, and the firstborn of the dead, that in all things he might have the preeminence.
1:19For it pleased the Father, that in him should all fullness dwell,
1:20And through peace made by that blood of that his cross, to reconcile to himself through him, through him, I say, all things, both which are in earth, and which are in heaven.
1:21And you which were in times past strangers and enemies, because your minds were set in evil works, has he now also reconciled,
1:22In that body of his flesh through death, to make you holy, and blameless and without fault in his sight,
1:23If you continue, grounded and established in the faith, and be not moved away from the hope of the Gospel, of which you have heard, and which has been preached to every creature which is under heaven, of which I Paul am a minister.
1:24Now rejoice I in my sufferings for you,and fulfill the rest of the afflictions of Christos in my flesh, for his bodies sake, which is the Church,
1:25Of what I am a minister, according to the dispensation of Theos, who is given me toward you, to fulfill the word of Theos,
1:26Which is the mystery hid since the world began, and from all ages, but now is made manifest to his Saints,
1:27To whom Theos would make known what is the riches of his glorious mystery among the Gentiles, which riches is Christos in you, the hope of glory,
1:28Whom we preach, admonishing every man,and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christos Jesus,
1:29To which I also labor and strive, according to his working which works in me mightily.
2:1For I would you knew what great fighting I have for your sakes, and for them of Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my person in the flesh,
2:2That their hearts might be comforted, and they knit together in love, and in all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of Theos, even the Father, and of Christos:
2:3In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
2:4And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with this words:
2:5For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, rejoicing and beholding your order, and your steadfast faith in Christos.
2:6As you have therefore received Christos Jesus the Kyrios, so walk in him,
2:7Rooted and built in him, and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
2:8Beware lest there be any man that spoil you through philosophy, and vain deceit, through the traditions of men, according to the rudiments of the world, and not after Christos.
2:9For in him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
2:10And you are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.
2:11In whom also you are circumcised with circumcision made without hands, by putting off the sinful body of the flesh, through the circumcision of Christos,
2:12In that you are buried with him through baptism, in whom you are also raised up together through the faith of the operation of Theos, who raised him from the dead.
2:13And you which were dead in sins, and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, has he quickened together with him, forgiving you all your trespasses,
2:14And putting out the hand writing of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, he even took it out of the way,and fastened it upon the cross,
2:15And has spoiled the Principalities, and Powers, and has made a show of them openly, and has triumphed over them in the same cross.
2:16Let no man therefore condemn you in meat and drink, or in respect of a holy day, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days,
2:17Which are but a shadow of things to come:but the body is in Christos.
2:18Let no man at his pleasure bear rule over you by humbleness of mind, and worshiping of Angels, advancing himself in those things which he never saw, rashly puffed up with his fleshly mind,
2:19And holds not the head, of what all the body furnished and knit together by joints and bands, increase with the increasing of Theos.
2:20Why if you be dead with Christos from the ordinances of the world, why, as though you lived in the world, are you burdened with traditions?
2:21As, Touch not, Taste not, Handle not.
2:22Which all perish with the using, and are after the commandments and doctrines of men.
2:23Which things have indeed a show of wisdom, in voluntary religion and humbleness of mind, and in not sparing the body, which are things of no value, as they pertain to the filling of the flesh.

Chapter 3

3:1If you then be risen with Christos, seek those things which are above, where Christos sits at the right hand of Theos.
3:2Mind things which are above, and not on things which are on the earth.
3:3For you are dead, and your life is hid with Christos in Theos.
3:4When Christos who is our life, shall appear, then shall you also appear with him in glory.
3:5Mortify therefore your members which are on the earth, fornication, uncleanness, the inordinate affection, evil desire, and covetousness which is idolatry.
3:6For the which things sake the wrath of Theos comes on the children of disobedience.
3:7In which you also walked once, when you lived in them.
3:8But now put away even all these things, wrath, anger, maliciousness, cursed speaking, filthy speaking, out of your mouth.
3:9Lie not one to another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his works,
3:10And have put on the new, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him,
3:11Where is neither Grecian nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond, free:But Christos is all,and in all things.
3:12Now therefore as the elect of Theos holy and beloved, put on the bowels of compassions, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long suffering:
3:13Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel to another:even as Christos forgave, even so do you.
3:14And above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness.
3:15And let the peace of Theos rule in your hearts, to the which you are called in one body, and be thankful.
3:16Let the word of Christos dwell in you plenteously in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing your own selves, in Psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with a grace in your hearts to the Kyrios.
3:17And whatever you shall do, in word or deed, do all in the Name of the Kyrios Jesus, giving thanks to Theos even the Father by him.
3:18Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as it is comely in the Kyrios.
3:19Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter to them.
3:20Children, obey your parents in all thing for that is well pleasing to the Kyrios.
3:21Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
3:22Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, in all things, not with eye service as men-pleasers,but in singleness of heart, fearing Theos.
3:23And whatever you do, do it from the psyche, as to the Kyrios, and not to men,
3:24Knowing that of the Kyrios you shall receive the reward of the inheritance:for you serve the Kyrios Christos.
3:25But he that does wrong, shall receive for the wrong that he has done:and there is no respect of persons.

Chapter 4

4:1You masters, do to your servants, that which is just, and equal, knowing that you also have a master in heaven.
4:2Continue in prayer, and watch in the fame with thanksgiving,
4:3Praying also for us,that Theos may open to us the door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christos:therefore I am also in bonds,
4:4That I may utter it, as it becomes me to speak.
4:5Walk wisely toward them that are without, and redeem the season.
4:6Let your speech be gracious always, and powdered with salt, that you may know how to answer every man.
4:7Tychicus our beloved brother and faithful minister, and fellow servant in the Kyrios, shall declare to you my whole state:
4:8Whom I have sent to you for the same purpose that he might know your state, and might comfort your hearts,
4:9With Onesimus a faithful and a beloved brother, who is one of you. They shall make known to you all things here.
4:10Aristarchus my prison fellow about you,and Marcus, Barnabas cousin (touching whom you received commandments. If he come to you, receive him)
4:11And Jesus who is called Justus, which are of the circumcision. These only are my work fellows to the kingdom of Theos, who have been to my consolation.
4:12Epaphras the servant of Christos, who is one of you, always you,and always strives for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect, and full in all the will of Theos.
4:13For I bear him testimony, that he has a great zeal for you, and for them of Laodicea, and them of Hierapolis.
4:14Luke the beloved physician greets you,and Demas.
4:15Salute the brethren who are of Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the Church which is in his house.
4:16And when this Epistle is read of you, cause that it be read in the Church of the Laodiceans also, and that you likewise read the Epistle written from Laodicea.
4:17And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry, that you have received in the Kyrios, that you fulfill it.
4:18The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bands. Grace be with you, Amen. Written from Rome to the Colossians, and sent by This, and Onesimus.
